This has nothing to do with knitting, but isn’t my baby sweet and cute?! Guess I’m partial, but, you know.

Mosaic Moon Scrappies!
A few days ago I got some wonderful Mosaic Moon (on Cestari) yarn scraps in the mail. And last night I couldn’t sleep, so I decided to get started on a pair of scrappy longies for Baby Moo. I got most of the way through the waist band before I pooped out and had to go to bed.
This morning I changed my mind about using one of the Mosaic Moon colors for the trim (waist band and leg cuffs), so I found a good coordinating trim from my stash (O-Wool, in an eggplant kind of color).
I frogged the first waist band and got to about the same point on the second. Here are the progress photos.

Blue Monday :: 9
This evening I’m listening to Blue Monday on the radio and finishing up this lovely *tiny* little pair of longies (wool pants used to cover cloth diapers – the wool serves as a water proof cover). The first of many to be made for Baby Moo. I just have to finish the chord and they’re all done!
What do you think?

WIP Wednesday… I mean Thursday
With the arrival of Baby Moo rapidly approaching, I’m committing myself to finishing up some projects that I’ve been working on for WAY too long.
Here are a few that are in the final stages.
First up, the Little Lulan Dress (formally known as the Little Sister Dress)… I’ve finished all the knitting, and all I have left to do is put on the buttons and sew in the ends.
Next up, I have the very first knitted item that I have completed for Baby Moo (which is so sad, because by this point in my pregnancy with Lulan I had probably made her at least five or six knitted treasures)… an Owlie Sleep Sack! I still need to block this, but here’s what it looks like pre-blocked.
It has tiny little cabled owls around the top of the sack… but I think it’s interesting how the whole thing kind of looks like an owl too.
I actually altered this pattern a little bit to leave the bottom open with a drawstring so we can get in to change diapers easily. And because it’s made of wool, we can use it as a cloth diaper cover as well!
What are you working on this week? I’d love to see, so please share!

Slouchy Baby Chicken Eggs!
Okay, you got me, all of the things in the title don’t go together! But it’s all what’s going on with me today on this BEAUTIFUL day here in Austin.
First of all, I finished the slouch hat I was working on. It has a lacy pattern, but it didn’t come out very nicely. I’m thinking about giving it another try and altering it a bit, maybe no lacy, or something that might stand out better… what do you think? Any suggestions?
Second, my friend is having her baby right now!!!! Many strong momma blessings and thoughts are coming your way right now! Hooray!!
And finally, yesterday, the days crossed over the threshold to be long enough for our wonderful chickens to start making their delicious eggs again. Yay!
This is our favorite chicken of the flock, her name is Sexy. She’s super sweet and loves to be picked up and petted.
And this is the mean one… she’s a trouble maker too… always trying to escape and wander the neighborhood. Her name is Rocky.
Oh my gosh! In the time that it took me to get from writing about my friend being in labor to the end of this post she has had her baby! Her name is Carson Anne, and she is perfect!!!! Congratulations!
What a magical day!
Love and Light,
Annie

Nice color, huh?
I always love to see what kinds of different textures and colors folks use when they knit up my patterns.
If you have a shot of something that you’ve knit up from one of my patterns, send it my way. Who knows, maybe you’ll make the blog or be the next model for one of my Etsy listings!
