So… my craft room/office is a bit of a disaster area…
For years now it’s been the “don’t know where to put it? just throw it in the office!” room. But not for long!
I just got home from an epic trip to Ikea where I got an awesome wooden shelving units that is sure to rock my world.
I thought it might be fun to post some before and after photos… so here goes!
Imagine that you just walked into the room and you’re panning from right to left. This is what you would see. Now don’t laugh, because it’s really bad!
Here’s the plan…
Replace shelves number one and two and the clutter pile with these:
Then I can start getting organized with these:
I’ve also got quite a few baskets, and boxes laying around that I’ll use. And I’ll probably hit up Hobby Lobby, Tuesday Morning, TJ Max and Ross for more discount storage bins.
I’d like to put some funky wall decals above the shelving unit… maybe like these

…or these…

Oh yeah, and I plan to utilize the amazing space wasting wall nook by placing a pathos ivy, or perhaps a money tree in it… but probably a pathos ivy… even though I really like the idea of having a money tree in my craft room/office, pathos ivies are one of the only plants I seem to be able to keep alive, and a dead money tree sounds like bad joo-joo.
So, what do you think? Any more ideas or suggestions?
By the way, the sign on the wall when you first walk in, “Equipped to Create”, was made by my Grandpa who was a sign painter. I got it out of his shop after he passed… talk about an awesome shop… that man had every tool known to man, and if he didn’t have it, he had the tools to make it!
Oh yeah, I forgot, I also got a bottle rack that you can put in like a shelf (right under one of the other shelves) so we can keep our wine in here too!
Sweet, it’s gonna be awesome! I was thinking about designing wall decals today!
